Connect your mailbox to an AI assistant

Editor Mail MCP lets an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, …) read, organise and, if you allow it, send your email. You connect once with your email address and password; the assistant then works with your mailbox like a mail program.

How to connect

Menus differ between apps and change over time. In general: open the settings of your AI app, find connectors (custom MCP servers, apps), add a new connector and paste the connector URL. The app then opens the connect page of Editor Mail MCP, where you sign in with your email address and password.

Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, enter a name and the connector URL.
ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors; custom connectors may require developer mode (Advanced settings). Create a connector with the connector URL.
Gemini: add a custom MCP server or connector with the connector URL, where your Gemini app offers it.
Grok: add a custom MCP connector with the connector URL, where your Grok app offers it.

Permissions

When connecting you choose what the assistant may do. You can connect again later to change it.

Read: list folders, list, search and read messages. Messages are not marked as read.
Organise: write drafts, move messages, set flags, move to trash. Nothing is ever deleted permanently.
Send: send email in your name. The assistant must show you the exact message and wait for your approval before sending.

Security

Your password is checked once with your mail server and then stored only in encrypted form that can be opened only together with the access key held by your AI app. Editor d.o.o. does not keep it in readable form.

The approval before sending is a safeguard of your AI app and the assistant, not a technical guarantee. Allow sending only if you need it.

To disconnect, remove the connector in your AI app. Changing your mail password also ends every connection.
